
Julie Taub is a bilingual (French and English) immigration lawyer practising in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Julie Taub has more than 10 years of experience in Canadian Immigration Law and her legal practice specializes in the field of Canadian Immigration Law. She is a licensed lawyer, a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the County of Carleton Law Association and is recognized by the Government of Canada (Department of Citizenship and Immigration) as an authorized representative.
She is a former Member of the Immigration and Refugee Board ("IRB") Refugee Protection Division ("RPD") (1997-2000 Toronto) which provides her with a unique and in depth understanding of the Immigration process. Ms Taub is also part time duty counsel with Ottawa Legal Aid on the immigration panel. Ms Taub is on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Immigration Policy Reform http://www.immigrationreform.ca/ and has been lobbying for immigration reform for many years.
She has appeared before Federal Court of Canada, the Immigration Appeal Division, the Immigration Division and the Refugee Protection Division, the three divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board on behalf of her clients. She also deals with work permits, spousal and family sponsorships and immigration to Canada. Julie Taub is also a member of the Legal Aid panel and duty counsel in immigration.
Julie Taub was an invited speaker at the Conference on Canada, Immigration and Multiculturalism, hosted by the U.S State Department in in Washington D.C. in January 2008. She was a moderator / participant at the Fraser Institute National Conference on Immigration in Montreal in June 2008.
She was an invited speaker at the Symposium on Canada's Immigration and Refugee System hosted by the Canadian Centre for Policy Studies in Ottawa October 30, 2010. She was the keynote speaker at a lecture on Immigration Issues and Remedies sponsored by ACT! for Canada in Montreal on November 29, 2010. She has twice appeared as a government witness before Canada's Parliamentary Standing Committee on citizenship and Immigration.

She graduated from the University of Ottawa LL.B. in 1992 from the Faculty of Law, programme français and was called to the Ontario Bar in February 1994. She is a former secondary school teacher from the Conseil Scolaire de la langue française de l'est de l'Ontario. She practised general and family Law until December 1996 when she was appointed to the Immigration and Refugee Board.

In addition to her professional activities, Ms Taub is involved with the Association of International Physicians and surgeons of Ontario, AIPSO, They are international medical doctors (IMGs) whose immigration to Canada was fast tracked at the various visa offices worldwide to accommodate the doctor shortage in Canada.
